Former Boston University women's tennis standout Chrissy Cerretani has been named assistant coach for the Terriers.
Cerretani replaces Giridhar Clark, who served as assistant coach to the Terriers for the past four years.
A graduate of Boston University's College of Communications with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism, this will be Cerretani's first collegiate coaching position.
Cerretani and head women's tennis coach Lesley Sheehan, who are both natives of Reading, Massachusetts, have a history of friendship on and off the court.
"I'm so excited to work with Lesley," said Cerretani. "I have known her for a long time and feel really lucky to be here."
While at Boston University, Cerretani led the Terriers to the NCAA's in 1999 and 2000, earning America East All-Conference accolades for her efforts in both seasons. Cerretani was also given the John Simpson Award in 2000 for enthusiastic senior leadership.
Cerretani is optimistic about the team's outlook for the coming season as it shoots for it's fourth straight appearance at the NCAA's and eighth consecutive conference title.
"Our goal this season is to win at least one match at the NCAAs. We have a lot of returning players, and I think we have the team to do it," she said.
