Senior tri-captain Alison Merkle joined a group of four other Terriers to be honored by America East by being named either to the First, Second, or All-Rookie Teams as selected by the league coaches.
Merkle, who started all 19 of B.U.'s games this past year, was the lone Terrier to be named to the First Team. It marked the third time in her four-year career that she has been so honored. As a freshman in 1999, she was selected Second Team All-Conference, but moved up to the First Team as a sophomore in 2000.
This past season, Merkle was tied for second on the team in goals with two, while she was fourth in scoring with four points. During her four-year career, she scored 12 goals and added 11 assists for 35 points. She is tied for seventh in career goals and is tied for eighth in career points.
"I am really happy for Merk," said Terrier head coach Nancy Feldman. "It is a fitting way for her to be honored after such an excellent career at Boston University."

Junior Lesley Garvey and freshman Meghann Cook were voted to the Second Team, while Cook joined Brooke Bingham and Brittany McDonald on the All-Rookie Team.
Garvey overcame back problems to play every minute of every game in the back for the Terriers, while Cook led the team in both goals with four and in points with 11, and was tied for the team lead in assists with three.
"It is great to see how Lesley was recognized after coming back from what could have been a career-ending injury," said Feldman. "And, it's nice to see Meghann make a mark in just her first year."

Both Bingham and McDonald started all 19 games but did not figure in any of the team's scoring.
Two other players were named Honorable Mention. They were junior goalkeeper Jessica Clinton, who finished the season with a 7-10-2 record along with a 1.20 goals against average and an .810 save percentage, and junior Rebecca Beyer, who finished the season with one goal and three assists for five points. Beyer will go into her senior season ranked among the Terriers' all-time leaders in goals with 12 and in points with 31.
The Terriers finished the season with an overall record of 7-10-2 and a 4-3-1 record and a fifth-place standing in America East.
