Terrier Offense Ignites As Softball Sweeps Albany

Albany, NY - Freshman Julie Henneke (Philadelphia, PA) and junior Robyn Horrick (Irvine, CA) each tossed complete-game two-hitters, leading the Boston University softball team to a doubleheader sweep of Albany on Sunday, April 14, at Albany Field. The Terriers won the twinbill, 2-0 and 4-2.
Game One - Boston University 2, Albany 0
Henneke (5-3) struck out 10 Great Dane batters, giving up only one walk in addition to the two hits. It was her third shutout of the season. Junior left fielder Tiffany Finateri (Las Vegas, NV) hit an RBI double to the left field gap to break a scoreless deadlock in the sixth inning, giving the Terriers a 1-0 lead.
Henneke added an insurance run in the seventh with an RBI groundout.
Game Two - Boston University 4, Albany 2
Freshman shortstop Jamie Haas (Houston, TX), who went 6-for-8 in the two games, went 2-for-4 with an triple. Horrick (7-5) allowed just two hits and struck out 11.
Albany (20-10, 6-6) tied the contest at 2-2 in the third inning. The Terriers came back in the fourth, as Horrick singled up the middle and later scored on a fielding error. B. U. added a run in the seventh, as Finateri delivered an RBI single.
B. U. (16-19, 10-2) returns to action on Tuesday, April 16, when it plays host to Connecticut in a 4 p.m. game. The game is a makeup for a rained out game from earlier in the season.
