Women's Tennis Loses First Match Of Season Vs. Harvard

The Terrier women's tennis team, which had won its first two matches of the spring season, saw its record slip to 2-1 with a 6-1 loss to Harvard on Saturday (February 22nd).
B.U.'s only win came at number five singles were junior Elisa Glas (Irun, Spain) split her first two sets, 5-7, 6-4, but came away with a win in the third set, 1-0, when her opponent had to retire.
The Crimson got off to a winning note when they won the point in doubles. Harvard actually won all three matches beginning at number one where juniors Lindsey Dynof (Colts Neck, NJ) and Elena deMendoza (Madrid, Spain) lost, 8-3. At number two, freshmen Aimee Charest (Somerset) and Laura Ahmes (Sarasota, FL) lost, 8-1. Finally, the team of senior captain Alana Marcu (Leonia, NJ) and Glas lost at number three doubles, 8-3.
In the singles, Dynof lost at number one, 6-3, 6-3; deMendoza lost her match at number two, 6-3, 6-0; Charest lost, 6-2, 6-2, at number three; Marcus lost at number four, 6-2, 6-1; and Ahmes lost at number six, 6-1, 6-0.
Earlier this spring, the Terriers defeated Cornell, 4-3, and Stony Brook, 7-0.
