McDonald Named To NCAA Region 6 All-Tourney Team

FULLERTON, Calif. - Freshman pitcher/outfielder Erin McDonald (Macon, Ill.) earned a spot on the NCAA Region 6 All-Tournament Team after leading the Terriers with a .500 batting average during the Terriers' stay in the NCAA Regional in Fullerton, Calif. on May 15-16.
The Terriers, making the fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament in the program's 16-year history, went 0-2 during the Regional, with a 1-0 loss to No. 13 Oklahoma State, and a 7-0 loss to Penn State.
McDonald had the only hit for the Terriers against Oklahoma State, going 1-for-3 with a single at the plate. Against Penn State, she was 2-for-3 with a pair of singles. She made two putouts playing in right field.
It was the latest in a season full of accolades for McDonald, who earned America East All-Conference Second Team and All-Rookie Team honors this season. She was also named to the Buzz Classic All-Tournament Team earlier in the season. She also earned New England Intercollegiate Softball Coaches Association First Team All-Star honorable mention accolades as an outfielder.
The Terriers finished the season with a 33-23 record, winning their second straight America East Championship, third straight conference regular-season title, and making their second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
