Brittany McDonald Named To NSCAA Academic All-Region Team

BOSTON, MA-Terrier junior back Brittany McDonald, who has received numerous honors for her performances on the soccer pitch, has now been recognized for her efforts in the classroom by being named to the NSCAA Region 1 Academic All-Region Second Team.
Majoring in exercise science, McDonald, who hails from Lindenhurst, NY, has a 3.31 grade point average out of a possible 4.0.
For the Terrier soccer team, McDonald has played in every game since her freshman year for a career total of 52 consecutive games. This season, she was a mainstay in the middle for the defense that allowed only 18 goals in 20 games.
As the leader of the defense for the Terrier team that finished with an overall record of 13-5-2 and in fourth place in the final America East standings with a 5-3-1 record, McDonald was named the League's Defender of the Year. She was also named First Team All-Conference.
It marked the second straight year the America East women's soccer coaches voted her the conference's top defensive player. In 2003, she was named the America East Defensive Player of the Year as well as First Team America East All-Star, America East All-Tournament Team, an NSCAA Northeast Region All-Star, Soccer Buzz Magazine First Team All-Northeast Region and America East Commissioner's Honor Roll.
As a freshman in 2002, McDonald was honored as an America East All-Rookie Team selection in addition to America East Academic Honor Roll and the team's Rookie of the Year.
