BOSTON - The Terrier women's tennis team maintained its winning ways this spring with a 6-1 win over Columbia University on Sunday, Feb. 8, at the Track and Tennis Center.
The victory gave the Terriers a weekend sweep of their two matches, as they blanked Binghamton, 7-0, on Saturday. What's more, B.U. remained undefeated this spring as it is now 3-0.
The Terriers opened the match with an impressive showing in their three doubles matches as they won all three to come away with the match point. At number one, senior captain Lindsey Dynof (Colts Neck, NJ) and sophomore Aimee Charest (Somerset, NJ) defeated the Lions' Milena Kachar and Eunice Chao, 8-5. At number two, senior Elena deMendoza and freshman Erin Katims (Boca Raton, FL) bested Lucia Aniello and Kendall Murphy, 8-3. Finally, sophomore Laura Ahmes (Sarasota, FL) and senior Elisa Glas (Irun, Spain) outlasted Melissa Nguyen and Miriam Rahali, 8-4.
