Old Dominion Slips Past Terriers, 4-3

NORFOLK, VA - Freshman Erin Katims (Boca Raton, FL) was impressive at third singles, defeating Fernanda Luiz, 7-5, 6-0, but the Boston University women's tennis team lost for just the third time all season, 4-3 at Old Dominion University.
The Terriers split the singles matches with the Monarchs, 3-3, but Old Dominion won two-of-three doubles matches to take the deciding point.
Sophomore Laura Ahmes (East Sarasota, FL) defeated Coralie Herrmann at number five singles, 6-0, 6-3, and teamed with senior Elisa Glas (Irun, Spain), defeating Larissa Santos and Barbara Kerner, 8-6 in third doubles.
Sophomore Aimee Charest (Somerset, MA) won the final match point for the Terriers, defeating Kerner, 6-4, 6-1 at number six singles.
B.U., its record now at 9-3, next plays at the College of William and Mary on Sunday, March 21 at 10 am.
