Brown Tops Terriers, 5-2

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Boston University women's tennis team suffered its third straight loss, dropping a 5-2 decision at Brown University on Thursday, March 25.
The Terriers fall to 9-5 on the season with the loss.
Freshman Erin Katims (Boca Raton, FL) remained a bright spot for the Terriers, winning her 13th match of the spring, 6-3, 6-3 over Kim Singer at third singles. Laura Ahmes (East Sarasota, FL) earned the Terriers' other point, defeating Amanda Saiontz, 6-4, 6-3.
Senior captain Lindsey Dynof (Colts Neck, NJ) and senior Elena de Mendoza (Madrid, Spain) each took their opponents to three sets before falling at first and second singles, respectively. After dropping the first set to Alex Arlak, 3-6, Dynof stormed back to take the second, 6-2, before Arlak closed out the match at 6-2.
de Mendoza also dropped the first set, 6-3 to Kerry Meath, before rallying for a 7-5 win in the second. She lost the third set, 6-2.
B.U. will look to end its losing streak on Sunday, March 28 at the Track and Tennis Center, where they take on Yale at 11 am.
