Haas Named To CoSIDA Academic All-District I Softball Team

BOSTON - Boston University softball junior shortstop Jamie Haas (Houston, Texas) was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I Softball Second Team, as announced by College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday.
The honor also places Haas on the national ballot for Academic All-American, which will be voted on later this month.
On Wednesday, Haas was named to the America East All-Conference First Team for the third straight season. She was selected as America East's Player of the Year after her freshman and sophomore seasons in 2002 and 2003.
Haas leads the Terriers in nearly all of the major offensive categories this season. She is pacing the Terriers in batting (.339), hits (57), runs (30), and steals (15). Her .354 career batting average is second all-time at B.U. This season, she became the Terriers' leader in career stolen bases. She enters this week's tournament with 54 steals.
Haas has led the Terriers to a 23-31 overall record this season. The Terriers, the No. 3 seed, play the top-seeded University at Albany in an America East Softball Championship elimination game on Friday, May 14 at 1:30 p.m.
