Terriers Dominate All-Championship Team Selections

Aimee Charest was named Most Outstanding Performer as the Boston University women's tennis team almost made it a clean sweep, taking seven-of-eight selections on the inaugural America East Tennis All-Championship Team, it was announced by the conference on Tuesday, May 3.
The Terriers captured the 2005 America East Championship, their 12th straight, with a 4-1 win over Binghamton on Sunday, May 1.
In addition to being named the Most Outstanding Performer, Charest was also named to the Championship Team at No. 5 singles. Freshman Gina Sabatino was selected at No. 2 singles, sophomore Erin Katims was picked at No. 3, freshman Katerina Draganova at No. 4, and junior captain Monica Shepherd at No. 6. Also, the team of Laura Ahmes and Cheri Lapane was chosen as the No. 1 doubles team.
The only selection the Terriers did not garner was at No. 1 singles, which went to Binghamton's Zeynep Altinay.
B.U. will next play in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, which begins on Friday, May 13. The Terriers' opponent will be decided on Wednesday, May 4 in a selection show at 4:30 pm.
