BOSTON - Adding to an already impressive list of accomplishments, senior Jamie Haas (Houston, Texas) was named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District I Softball First Team on Thursday.
Haas's name will be placed on the national Academic All-America ballot. The national winners will be announced in June. She has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.41 while majoring in Human Movement.
It was the second major award for Haas in as many days. On Wednesday, she became the first three-time winner of the America East softball Player of the Year award in addition to being named to the All-Conference First Team for the fourth time in her career.
Haas finished the regular-season second in America East in batting at .387, while she leads the league in runs scored (41, 0.95 per game), on-base percentage (.450), and stolen bases (23, 0.53 per game). She is also tied for fourth in triples (3).
This year's All-District academic award marks the second time she has been named to the team. She was a Second Team selection as a junior in 2004.
