Eleven Softball Terriers Named To Academic Honor Roll

BOSTON - A total of 11 Boston University softball student-athletes were named to America East Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll for earning grade point averages of 3.0 or higher, it was announced by the conference on Tuesday, July 5.
Three of the 11 were further recognized on the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll, acknowledging grade point averages of 3.5 or higher.
Senior Jamie Haas (Houston, Texas), the 2005 America East Softball Player of the year, was named to the team for the fourth time in four years. Senior Christy King (Albuquerque, N.M.) joined her as a four-time Academic Honor Roll recipient.
Junior Emily Varga (Clinton, Conn.) was the lone Terrier junior to earn a spot on the team.
Sophomores Ashlee Freeman (Northridge, Calif.), Chiya Louie (Seattle, Wash.), Kate Shaughnessy (Newton, Mass.), and Krysta Peplowski (Albany, N.Y.) were named to the squad.
Three freshmen - Tyler Benson (Tucson, Ariz.), Molly Gallagher (Reading, Mass.), and Jenna Grapensteter (Bothell, Wash.) made the team for the first time.
Grapensteter, Shaughnessy, and Peplowski were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
