Women's Tennis Competes at Brown Invitational

The Boston University women's tennis team traveled to Brown University to compete in a hidden dual match format tournament against teams from Brown, Rutgers and Auburn from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1.
On day one, BU's Yana Sadovskaya (Riga, Latvia) faced Jil Hastenrath of Auburn and took a 6-4, 6-1 win. Terrier teammate Rebecca Row (Austin, Tex.) also took on an Auburn Tiger, Heather Bybee, and took home a win, 7-5, 6-1. Junior Katie Draganova (Coral Springs, Fla.) faced Brown's Kathrin Sorokko and earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
Row earned her second win of the day against Katherine Arlack of Rutgers, 6-3, 6-2. Sophomore Danielle Abraham (Waukesha, Wisc.) faced Anela Dujsic, another Scarlet Knight, and won in a super tiebreak, 4-6, 7-5 (10-4). Terrier Liz Corrao (Holden, Mass.) earned a victory from Brown's Tanja Vucetic in another tiebreak, this time 3-6, 6-4 (11-9).
In doubles on the first day, the team of Sadovskaya and senior Gabrielle Hernandez (Palo Alto, Calif.) won easily, 8-1, against Brown's Kelley Kirkpatricka nd Emily Ellis.
On the second day, Abraham took on Michelle Paulter (Brown) and won 7-5, 6-3. Sadovskaya faced Alexa Baggio (Brown) and won 6-0, 6-1 to complete BU's singles victories for the day.
In doubles, the Terriers' lone win on day two came from sophomore Cori Lefkowith (Clayton, Mo.) and Corrao, who defeated Sara Mansur and Brett Finkelstein (Brown) 8-3.
