Rebecca Row Wins Flight B Singles At Big Green Invitational

Hanover, N.H. - Sophomore Rebecca Row (Austin, Tex.) won the Flight B singles at the Big Green Invitational from Oct. 28-31 hosted at Dartmouth College. Classmate Danielle Abraham (Waukesha, Wis.) was a Flight A singles semifinalist.
Row won all four of her matches handily, earning three service breaks from her opponents in every set. She defeated Jennifer Murray of Dartmouth 6-0, 6-0 before winning 6-2, 6-1 over the Big Green's Elizabeth Warnack in the finals.
Abraham defeated Stony Brook's Sandy Wijeratne 6-0, 6-1, Dartmouth's Mary Beth Winingham 5-7, 6-4 (10-2) in a tiebreak, and Long Island's Ashley Harvey 6-3, 6-1 before falling in another tiebreak situation, this time 4-6, 6-4 (8-10) to Cincinnati's Hannah Hinton.
Senior Erin Katims (Boca Raton, Fla.) and sophomore Yana Sadovskaya (Riga, Latvia), both seeded in the main draw, won their consolation matches, and all four doubles teams won at least one match in the main draw.
Katims lost to Hinton 4-6, 7-5 (7-10) before beating Nyssa Peele (URI) 6-0, 6-1 and Mary Beth Winingham (Dartmouth) 6-4, 6-3. Jamie Adler (Dartmouth) defeated Sadovskaya 6-0, 6-0 in the first round. Sadovskaya earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Taylor Barvoets (Siena) and a 6-4, 7-5 win against Lindsay Winingham (Dartmouth).
The doubles team of Katims and Liz Corrao (Holden, Mass.) topped Dartmouth's sisters Jamie and Danielle Murray 8-5 and Michele Spiess and Masha Pozar (UMass) 9-7. Abraham and Katie Draganova (Coral Springs, Fla.) defeated Barvoets and Victoria Vovsha 8-3. Cori Lefkowith (Clayton, Mo.) and Row won 8-2 against Caitlin Crowley and Grace Krammerer (Stony Brook/USM), and Sadovskaya and Gabbi Hernandez (Palo Alto, Calif.) pulled out an 8-6 win versus Jamie Caplan and Carley Markovitz (Dartmouth.)
