Women's Tennis Blanks Dartmouth, 7-0

HANOVER, N.H. – The Boston University women’s tennis team blanked Dartmouth, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon behind straight-set wins in all six singles matches. It was the Terriers’ sixth shutout victory of the season, as the team improved to 12-5 overall with a three-match win streak.
The duos of junior Erin Katims (Boca Raton, Fla.) and senior Laura Ahmes (Sarasota, Fla.), and freshmen Cori Lefkowith (Clayton, Mo.) and Danielle Abraham (Waukesha, Wis.) combined to capture the doubles point. Katims and Ahmes topped Dartmouth’s Ann Scott and Katie Jaxheimer, 8-3, in second doubles, before Lefkowith and Abraham wrapped up the point with an 8-4 win over Jamie Caplan and Kerry Snow in third doubles.
With the 1-0 lead heading into singles action, the Terriers dominated throughout the six match-ups for the 7-0 win. Sophomore Gina Sabatino (Waltham, Mass.) took the first singles win (7-6, 6-3), followed by Katims, Ahmes, freshman Yana Sadovskaya (Riga, Lativa), Lefkowith and Abraham coming out victorious at second through sixth singles, never allowing the Big Green to tally more than four points in any set.
The Terriers return to action on Saturday at Quinnipiac.
