
Women's Tennis Announces 2006-07 Schedule, Recruiting Class

BOSTON – The Boston University women’s tennis team is pleased to announce its two-member recruiting class and the 2006-07 season schedule. Rebecca Row and Elizabeth Corrao will join the eight returnees for an action-packed schedule that includes multiple trips to face southern schools and matches against numerous ranked opponents.
Row, a native of Austin, Texas, has been consistently ranked in the top-10 in Texas. In addition, she ranks in the top-20 nationally in doubles in the 18s, while ranking 135th in singles. She will be attending the University’s College of Arts and Sciences.
Corrao, a native of Holden, Mass., attended Notre Dame Academy of Hingham, Mass. She is ranked second in singles in the New England 18s and 146th nationally. She will be attending the University’s College of General Studies.
The 2006-07 schedule kicks off with the fall season from Sept. 15 through Oct. 31, which includes the All-American Tournament and the ITA Regionals at Dartmouth. The spring season begins on Jan. 19 against the University of Montreal at the BU Track and Tennis Center, and runs through April 14, against Quinnipiac.
During spring break, the team will travel south to face Coastal Carolina, South Carolina State, College of Charleston, and University of Louisiana-Lafayette, as well as Florida Atlantic and Florida International.
The Terriers will also face ranked opponents in Harvard (21st at the end of last season), Louisiana-Lafayette (73th) and Florida International (35th).
The season will also be highlighted by a match against cross-town rival Boston College late in the season.
Last season the Terriers finished 15-7 and won their 13th-consecutive America East title to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. There, they fell to No. 7 Miami in the first round.
