
Women's Tennis Closes Out Fall with Big Green Invitational

Hanover, N.H. - The Boston University women's tennis team traveled to Dartmouth College to play in the Big Green Invitational, its last tournament of the season. Each player competed in three singles and doubles matches over the weekend. The Terriers faced teams from Dartmouth, Syracuse, UMass, Stonybrook and Army.
Freshman Vanessa Steiner (Pittsburgh, Pa.) tallied the best record over the weekend, going 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles. Sophomore Francine Whu (Staten Island, N.Y.) posted a quality win over Dartmouth's Molly Scott, 7-6, 6-2. Scott was a finalist in the "A" Flight at the National Tennis Center tournament. Junior Cori Lefkowith (Clayton, Mo.) had to withdraw after her first round due to a shoulder injury.
The doubles pair of junior Yana Sadovskaya (Riga, Latvia) and sophomore Liz Corrao (Holden, Mass.) went undefeated for the weekend.
