BOSTON - The Boston University women's tennis team closed out the regular season on a high note and improved to 11-5 with its fifth sweep of the season, 7-0, over Quinnipiac Saturday afternoon at the Track and Tennis Center.
The Terriers won all six matches in straight sets and earned 2-of-3 doubles wins by the score of 8-0.
Freshman Liz Corrao (Holden, Mass.) did not drop a game en route to her 6-0, 6-0 win over Shawne Sarson at sixth singles. Freshman Francine Whu (Staten Island, N.Y.), sophomore Cori Lefkowith (Clayton, Mo.), senior Erin Katims (Boca Raton, Fla.), and freshman Rebecca Row (Austin, Tex.) lost just four games between them. Lefkowith has a singles record of 20-7 and is currently on a three-match win streak. Row is 19-5 on the year in singles, and Whu bounced back nicely from a tough three-setter against BC with her victory.
Next time out, the Terriers travel to Yale to compete in the 2007 America East Championships.
