
Softball Alumni Game Draws Largest Turnout in Event History

BOSTON - On Saturday, Sept. 22 the Boston University softball team hosted its annual alumni game at BU Softball Field. The successful day drew the largest turnout in the history of the event, as the varsity squad faced off with 14 former Terriers.
Former Terriers Meredith Jennings Fiorentino ('93), Kate Shaughnessy ('07), Brittany Detwiler ('07), Sally Gamache ('97), Josey Mendez ('06), Brandi Sheilds ('07), Krysta Peplowski ('07), Kenya Palmer ('01), Michelle White ('95), Robyn King ('01), Liz Alley ('06), Tara Hodge ('06), Bridget Callaghan ('97) and Nili Schnairsohn ('00) took part in the festivities.
A couple of the highlights from the day included a three-inning appearance from former Terrier great Robyn King, as well as recent grad Brittany Detwiler, who pitched one inning on the mound. Michelle White showed why she is one of the program's all-time greatest hitters, when she recorded a double during the game.
The alumni game opened the Terriers' 2007 fall slate. Next on the schedule is cross-town rivals Boston College and Harvard on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. at Harvard.
