
Women's Tennis Continues Hot Start Against UMBC, 6-1

BOSTON - The Boston University women's tennis team (2-0) continued their hot start to the spring season as they handed America East rival UMBC a 6-1 loss, on Sunday at the Track and Tennis Center.
BU got off to a brilliant start in the match as they swept all three doubles points. Doubles pairs Danielle Abraham (Waukesha, Wis) and Cori Lefkowith (Clayton, Mo.) as well as Liz Corrao (Holden, Mass.) and Yana Sadovskaya (Riga, Latvia) shut out their opponents winning their matches 8-0. Overall the Terriers only gave up two sets throughout doubles play.
The Terriers would continue their strong play in their singles matches winning five out of six contests. Abraham had a tough start to her singles game when she dropped the first set, 4-6. She went on to win the second set, 6-2, and battled through a super tiebreaker 10-8 to win the match.
BU returns to action Sunday Feb. 10 when the team takes on Harvard University at 11am in the Track and Tennis Center.
