BOSTON - Sophomore Rachel Hebert and freshman Melanie Delgado have taken home the America East Softball Player and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively, as announced by the conference office on Monday. It is the first league accolade for Hebert this season, while Delgado earns her second consecutive rookie of the week nod. The two infielders were integral in the Terriers sweep of Binghamton, which catapulted the squad back into first place in the America East standings.
Hebert, also the ECAC Player of the Week, recorded six hits in 13 at-bats last week for a .462 batting average over five games. She knocked in nine runs and came around to score six more for the Terriers. Hebert also hit a double and home run, collecting one walk and a stolen base.
