Looking to continue its winning ways, the 16th-ranked Boston University women’s soccer team will host Dartmouth College at Nickerson Field on Wednesday. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
It will be the final non-conference game of the year for the Terriers (14-2-1, 7-0-0 AE), who are still tied with Hartford for first place in the conference. BU will host the Hawks on Sunday to close out the regular season.
While BU will be looking to go 9-0-0 at home this year, the Big Green (3-9-0, 1-3-0 Ivy League) is still searching for its first road win this year. Dartmouth is 3-1-0 at home, but on the road it is 0-8-0 with just two goals in those eight games.
Dartmouth holds the lead in the all-time series between these two teams with a 6-5-4 record against the Terriers. Last year, BU traveled to Hanover, N.H., and beat the Big Green, 1-0, on a goal from senior Jessica Luscinski.
Last time out, the Terriers' offense exploded for an 8-0 win over UMBC on Sunday at Nickerson Field. Sophomore Megan McGoldrick found the back of the net twice, with BU also getting a goal and two assists from senior Tiya Gallegos. Sophomore Alejandra Diaz also scored, as she recorded her first collegiate goal.
In net, Kelly King and Andrea Green split time to combine for the clean sheet. It was King’s ninth start of the year and Green’s (two saves) first action of the season. King now has a goals-against average of 0.87 and a .750 save percentage.
The Big Green has five different players with a goal this year, but only one, freshman Tasha Wilkins, has scored more than once. Wilkins leads the team with four points while senior Aly O’Dea leads the team with 18 shots.
Freshman Tatiana Saunders and senior Colleen Hogan have split the majority of time in net for Dartmouth. Hogan has a record of 2-3 with a 1.37 GAA and a .611 save percentage while Saunders is 1-6 with a GAA of 1.59 and save percentage of .732.
After Wednesday’s game, BU will put its perfect conference record on the line when the Terriers take on undefeated Hartford on Sunday. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
