BOSTON - Riding a six-game winning streak, the 21st-ranked Boston University women's soccer team will welcome Binghamton to Nickerson Field on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
BU (11-2-1, 4-0-0 AE), which has now won 34 of its last 35 matches against America East foes dating back to 2007, holds a 10-1-0 advantage in the all-time series with the Bearcats. Last year, the Terriers trounced Binghamton, 4-0, up in Vestal, N.Y. Senior Jessica Luscinski and sophomore Emma Clark each recorded a goal, while former Terrier Lisa Kevorkian ('11) scored twice.
Leading the Terriers offensively are Luscinski, whose 14 points are good for fourth in America East, sophomore Kylie Strom and freshman Taylor Krebs, who each have 11 points and are tied for fifth in the America East in scoring.
Defensively, BU has been just as tough with eight shutouts in 14 games. Senior Alice Binns is second in America East in terms of goals against average (0.40) and ranks third in save percentage (.875). Binns earned her latest shutout in a 1-0 victory over New Hampshire on Thursday.
The Bearcats (4-7-1, 1-2-1 AE) have won just one of their last six games, dropping their last outing to conference-foe Albany. For Binghamton, not one player has scored multiple goals this season, as eight different players have one goal. In net, sophomore Carrie Martin has been stellar, posting a goals against average of 0.50 and an .889 save percentage.
After Sunday's match-up, BU will travel to Long Island to take on Stony Brook on Thursday (Oct. 13). Game time is set for 7 p.m.
