
Women's Tennis Defeats Syracuse, 6-1

BOSTON - Extending its win streak to five matches, the Boston University women's tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over Syracuse Sunday morning at the Track and Tennis Center. With the victory, the Terriers improve to 5-2, while the Orange drops to 7-2 after seeing its six-match win streak snapped.
BU earned the team victory by winning two of the three doubles matches and five of the six singles contests.
Junior Stefanie Nunic and sophomore Vivien Laszloffy lost their first doubles match of the spring but came back in singles action with convincing victories. Nunic won the top spot, 6-4, 6-0, while Laszloffy pulled out a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 2.
Junior Petra Santini rallied from a set down to win the No. 4 match, 4-6, 6-3, 6-0. Freshman Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis and sophomore Jessi Linero won the third set tiebreakers for BU's other two points.
BU will next face No. 67 William & Mary on Friday (Feb. 25) at Harvard with action set to begin at 12 p.m.
