
Softball Falls to Quinnipiac, 2-1

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Red-shirt freshman Jayme Mask scored the Terriers' lone in a 2-1 loss to Quinnipiac on Wednesday afternoon in Clearwater, Fla.
Mask scored in the bottom of the first, however, Quinnipiac came back with two runs in the top of the second on a two-run single.
The Terriers got four hits off Quinnipiac's Heather Schwartzburg, who struck out 14 batters. Two of those hits came from junior Erica Casacci, who recorded a single and a double in the contest.
BU had opportunities to win it, however, they left six runners on base, including three in the sixth.
Sophomore Whitney Tuthill was charged with the loss as she falls to 3-3 on the season. she pitched the complete game, surrendering two runs - both unearned - and struck out four batters in the process.
BU has a big weekend coming up as it will take on Kent State, FAMU, Texas Tech, Winthrop, and Jacksonville at the USF The Game Tournament in Tampa, Fla.
