BOSTON - Junior Stefanie Nunic continued her stellar play on the tennis court by posting a perfect combined 4-0 record over the weekend in singles and doubles action to earn GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week honors.
On Saturday, she teamed with sophomore Vivien Laszloffy for an 8-4 win against St. John's top duo and then dropped just three games in the No. 1 singles spot against the Red Storm.
The following day in a potential preview of the America East Championship, she and Laszloffy recorded an 8-5 win over Binghamton. After the doubles victory, she later rallied from a set down to defeat the region's No. 2 ranked player, Anna Edelman, with a 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory.
Last fall, Edelmann won the 'A' Singles crown at the USTA National Tennis Center Invitational and finished runner-up at the ITA East Regional Championships.
Already named America East Player of the Week three times this season, the two-time AE Player of the Year Nunic now owns a 13-match win streak in singles action.
