VESTAL, N.Y. - Game one of the three-game series between the Boston University softball team and Binghamton has been suspended due to rain. The series will resume Sunday (May 8) at 11 a.m. BU led 3-2 in the top of the seventh.
In game one, senior April Setterlund homered in the first to give the Terriers an early lead and redshirt freshman Chelsea Kehr added two more in the fourth on a long ball of her own that plated junior Kayla Kruper. The Bearcats put one on the board in the fourth and they closed the gap to one, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth on Deannie Plemon's solo home run. The game was halted in the top of the seventh with runners on second and third and pinch hitter Christina Valdes at bat.
The series will resume at 11 a.m.
With two wins, the Terriers can secure at least a share of the regular-season title and claim home-field advantage throughout the tourney.
