After leading the Boston University women's tennis team to its 18th straight America East championship and 13th NCAA berth, junior Stefanie Nunic has been named the most valuable player for the 2010-11 season.
Tabbed the Northeast's Top Player to Watch by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for next year, Nunic went 15-4 in the top singles spot during the spring. She and sophomore Vivien Laszloffy also went 11-5 in doubles and were ranked as high as No. 68 in March before injuries broke the duo up for several weeks.
At the beginning of the season, the two-time America East Player of the Year Nunic reached the quarterfinals of the ITA Regionals and finished the year with wins over ranked players from Yale and Dartmouth.
