ALBANY - Leading 4-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh, the Boston University softball team dropped a 6-4 decision to Albany on Sunday afternoon in Albany, N.Y. The Terriers went 2-1 against Albany, sweeping the Great Danes in a doubleheader yesterday. BU moves to 24-13 on the season.
Four Terriers posted a pair of hits on the afternoon, as sophomores Jayme Mask, Megan Volpano, Brittany Clendenny and Chelsea Kehr each posted two hits. Clendenny led the team with two RBIS and hit her fourth homer of the season while Mask and senior Melanie Delgado knocked in the other runs.

Albany scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the second with Katie Wambold hitting an RBI double. BU responded in the top of the next inning. Kehr started it off with a double to right center and sophomore Alyssa Barsanti stepped in to run. Delgado used a sacrifice bunt to move Barsanti to third and Mask drove the run home with another sacrifice bunt to tie the game at 1-1.
The Terriers added three runs in the top of the fourth inning, as Volpano began with a single. Clendenny then hit her second home run of the series to score two runs. Junior Emily Roesch and Kehr got on base with singles and Delgado drove Roesch home with a single through the left side to put BU ahead 4-1.
The Terriers held on to the 4-1 advantage until the bottom of the seventh when the Great Danes rallied to score five runs in their last at-bat. Wambold began the inning with a homer to left field. Albany then used back-to-back doubles to score another run before the Terriers switched pitchers. After the change, Vicky McFarland hit a three-run homer to push the Great Danes to the 6-4 victory.
