CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After reaching the semifinals of the America East tournament, four members of the Boston University women's tennis team earned All-Conference Team honors, the league office announced Thursday afternoon.
Sophomore Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis led the Terriers by being recognized for her play in both singles and doubles competition. Receiving All-Conference Second Team Singles honors, she went 12-12 during the year, including 2-2 in the top slot.
Her biggest highlight of the season came in doubles when she and junior Jessi Linero pulled out an 8-5 victory over Yale's No. 22-ranked pair of Vicky Brook and Hanna Yu. Finishing 14-10 on the season, they both earned All-Conference First Team Doubles honors.
An All-Conference First Team honoree, junior Vivien Laszloffy posted a 12-12 singles mark, including a straight-sets victory over William & Mary's then-No. 118 Maria Belaya.
Hampered by injuries all season, two-time America East Player of the Year Stefanie Nunic received All-Conference Second Team accolades. She went 5-3 on the season and finished her collegiate career with a win at No. 3 singles in the America East semifinals.
