
Women's Soccer Travels to Vermont on Sunday

BOSTON - Riding a 26-game winning streak over America East opponents, the Boston University women’s soccer team will travel north to Vermont to take on the Catamounts on Sunday at Virtue Field. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
BU (6-5-1, 1-1-0 AE), which has now won 44 of its last 45 matches against America East foes dating back to 2007, holds the 12-2-2 advantage in the all-time series with UVM. In their last six meetings, the Terriers have outscored the Catamounts, 21-0 including a 5-0 victory last season. Vermont’s last victory over BU came in 2004 by a margin of 4-0.
Junior Madison Clemens paces BU’s offense with four goals, while eight other Terriers have found the back of the net this fall. Sophomore Ana Cuffia is tied with senior Brea Hewitt for second on the team with three goals and an assist each for seven points. Sophomore Taylor Krebs leads the team with three assists.
BU has outscored teams, 20-12, this season and holds an 8-2 goals advantage in its last three games. The Terriers also own an edge in corner kicks earned, 39-23.
Junior Andrea Green has played all but one half in net for the Terriers to post a 5-5-1 record. She is ranked third in America East in goals-against average (.920) and save percentage (.810). Green has stopped 47 shots this season.
UVM enters the contest with a 1-9-0 record (0-1-0 AE) after dropping its last seven matches. The Catamounts lone victory was a 2-0 shutout over Central Connecticut at Virtue Field on Aug. 24.
For the Catamounts, sophomores Bre Pletrik and Alexandra Dezenzo lead the offense. Pletrik has recorded four goals and an assist, while Dezenzo has netted three and has two helpers. UVM has found the back of the net 10 times this fall.
Freshman Ally Ramos and junior Sarah Leiby have split time in net for the Catamounts. Ramos has stopped 28 attempts for a 2.00 goals-against average and .700 save percentage. Leiby has recorded 13 saves for a 2.33 goals-against average and .650 save percentage.
This is Kristi Lefebvre’s second season as UVM’s head coach. She joined the program in 2008 as a part-time assistant.
Following Sunday’s contest, BU will travel to Baltimore, Md. to take on UMBC on Thursday (Oct. 4). First kick is scheduled for 7 p.m.
