CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After batting .529 and recording six stolen bases to help lead the Boston University softball team to three wins, junior Jayme Mask has been named America East Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Previously recognized on April 15, Mask went 9-of-17 at the plate and added three walks to increase her on-base percentage for the week to .600. She also tallied six stolen bases on seven attempts to move within two of the program's season record of 37 swiped bags held by Shayne Lotito ('09).
During the weekend sweep against Maine, Mask went 6-of-10 and scored a run in each of the contests and added an RBI in the third game. Playing in center field, she also recorded a combined nine putouts.
The Terriers will complete the 2013 season with a four-game road trip, starting with a visit to UConn on Thursday (May 2) at 2 p.m. They will then play a three-game series at Stony Brook over the weekend.
