• VARSITY ALUMNI CHALLENGE
For the second consecutive year, the BU Department of Athletics hosted the "Varsity Alumni Challenge". The team with the highest alumni participation rate at the end of the contest would win a $10,000 prize.
Women's tennis went on to beat the women's golf team by 0.4 percent. The money will be used to create a "Hall of Champions" in the Track and Tennis Center to demonstrate the program's long tradition of success. It will help improve the building's ascetics and serve more importantly as a point of terrier pride for alumni, current student-athletes and recruits.
We'd like to thank BU alum Alana Marcu ('03) for spearheading the project. Besides being a four-time America East All-Conference honoree, she was a photojournalism major.

• END OF THE YEAR RECOGNITION
The Terriers were banned this year from the America East postseason tournament due to the upcoming move to the Patriot League, but that didn't stop the ladies from having a memorable season!
BU defeated archrival No. 63 Boston College, 4-3, in the final match of the season for the program's first win against the Eagles since 2009. Read about the thrilling match by clicking here.
Another key highlight was the 4-3 victory at Brown, which snapped a five-match losing streak to the Bears.
With an 11-6 record, the team ended the season ranked No. 7 in the ITA Northeast Region ahead of Penn, Dartmouth and Brown.
At the individual level, Lauren Davis led the Terriers with 16 singles victories and ended her first season ranked No. 15 in singles with wins against BC's No. 11 Alex Kelleher and No. 13 Jessica Wacnik. Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis and Jessi Linero finished No. 8 in doubles after beating the top pairs from Harvard, then-No. 75 Wisconsin, Stony Brook and UMass.
Though not ranked, Vivien Laszloffy overcame injuries to have a standout season and earn team co-MVP honors along with Davis. She went 10-3 during the spring and seven of her final eight singles matches while going 10-4 in doubles.
• THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES
Congrats to Jessi Linero and Vivien Laszloffy on earning their degrees from BU! They graduated from the School of Management after helping guide the Terriers to two NCAA tournament appearances.
Laszloffy was a three-time All-Conference honoree for singles, while Linero earned two All-Conference awards for both singles and doubles.

• MEET THE NEWCOMERS
For the fourth time since 2008, BU has a top-10 recruiting class in the mid-major rankings according to TennisRecruiting.com.
Iris Lin is a four-star recruit who ranked as high as No. 2 in Northern California's Girls 18 age group. She won the 61st annual Challenge Cup in both mixed and women's doubles while reaching the finals in singles action her senior year.
Barbara Rodriguez already has scarlet in her blood, as her father graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences back in 1980. Ranked as high as No. 278 by the ITF, she had a successful juniors career, winning the 2010 Copa Horizontes de la Amistad singles title and later reaching the finals of the South American Championship in doubles.
Please join us in welcoming them to the family!
• TERRIER PUP
Congrats to our very own Chrissy Cerretani ('00) on her baby girl! Violet Grace Nevaras was born May 20 at 11:01 a.m. She weighed seven pounds and seven ounces.
• SCHEDULE UPDATE
Check out the schedule by clicking here.
The 2013-14 season will officially kick off at the Brown Invitational on Sept. 20-22. This year, the ITA Regionals will be nearby, as Harvard will be hosting the annual event.
The spring dual season will begin with Rhode Island visiting on January 26. We will welcome fellow Patriot League members Holy Cross on Feb. 20 and Army on April 12. The Patriot League Championships will be held April 18-20 at a site to be determined, and we hope you can come join us.
The Spring Break schedule has not been filled out yet, but the Terriers will be flying south to Virginia to face William & Mary (March 1) and VCU (March 2).
• ACADEMIC AWARDS
Congrats to the seven ladies who were named to the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll for having a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis, Madison Craft, Marina Fileva and Vivien Laszloffy were also placed on the Commissioner's Honor Roll for owning a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Congrats also to Athanasiadis on repeating as the America East Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year! The junior was recognized after earning both athletic and academic All-Conference accolades.
Excited to learn that the program earned a perfect score of 1,000 in the latest multi-year NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate (APR) for the entire four-year cohort ending with the 2011-12 academic year. This marked the third straight year the program hit the mark!
