Results

BOSTON - Playing at home for the first time in a month, the Boston University women's tennis team rolled past Drake, 6-1, on Saturday evening at the BU Track & Tennis Center.

The Terriers improve to 8-6 after winning two of the three doubles matches and five of the six singles points, while the Bulldogs drop to 10-3.

Drake entered the match-up having won 10 of its last 11 contests, highlighted by victories over Brown, Iowa State and Wisconsin.

Sophomore Johanna Hyoty teamed with senior Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles and then quickly dispatched the Bulldogs' top singles player, 6-2, 6-0.

Athanasiadis was also victorious in singles, posting a 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 win in the No. 3 slot. Sophomore Kim McCallum won, 8-4, in No. 3 doubles with classmate Madison Craft and then pulled out two tiebreakers for the 7-6(4), 4-6, 11-9 victory at No. 6 singles.

Sophomore Lauren Davis rallied from a set down for the 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 win at No. 2 singles, and junior Sami Lieb claimed a 7-5, 6-0 victory in the No. 4 slot.

The Terriers will remain at home and next host former America East foe Binghamton on Sunday (March 23) at 11 a.m.
