
Three Terriers Tabbed ITA Scholar-Athletes

BOSTON - After leading the reigning Patriot League champion Boston University women's tennis team to its first NCAA berth since 2011, three Terriers have been tabbed ITA Scholar-Athletes. Recent graduate Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis was joined by rising juniors Madison Craft and Johanna Hyoty.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman thorough senior year).
Athanasiadis departed BU as a two-time America East Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The native of Haltern am See, Germany graduated with a degree in psychology after posting a GPA of 3.88 in the spring.
A native of Frisco, Texas, Craft recorded a GPA of 3.68 while majoring in human physiology. Previously recognized as the PL Player of the Year and the PL Tournament MVP, Hyoty posted a GPA of 3.87. A native of Tampere, Finland, she is currently majoring in business administration.
