WORCESTER, Mass. - Former Terrier and women's soccer associate head coach Casey Brown has accepted the head coaching position at Holy Cross, Director of Athletics Nathan Pine announced on Friday morning.
Brown served on the Terrier staff for the last three seasons and helped to guide the team to three-straight Patriot League Championships. She has coached 25 All-Patriot League selections as well as the reigning Defender of the Year, McKenzie Hollenbaugh, Goalkeeper of the Year, Alyssa Parisi, and Rookie of the Year, McKenna Doyle.
One of her most recent accolades came last week when Brown was named the NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region Assistant Coach of the Year. In 2013, she was named to the NSCAA "30 Under 30" list, which highlights the 30 top soccer coaches under the age of 30 in the U.S.
“While we are sad to have Casey leave Boston University and our coaching staff, this is a natural progression for highly qualified young coaching professionals," head coach Nancy Feldman said. "I know it was a very difficult decision as she has been both a standout player and a significant contributor to the program the last three years as an assistant coach. Personally and professionally, I could not be more pleased for, and proud of her.”
“While we will miss her daily presence with our program, she will not be far! We will continue to see her on the opposing sideline as Holy Cross is a Patriot League rival. The Turnpike Trophy will have added meaning every year as we know we will be facing a well-coached and well-prepared team! Holy Cross is so very fortunate to get, in their new head coach, a leader, motivator and teacher with such strong values and competency as Casey Brown.”
