
Connolly, Martinez Earn Second PL All-Academic Team Honor

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Boston University softball juniors Moriah Connolly and Gabi Martinez have been named to the Patriot League All-Academic team for the second consecutive year, the conference office announced Wednesday morning. The squad consists of 12 student-athletes from around the league that earned a 3.20 GPA or higher and were starters or important reserves for their respective teams.
The pair of honors mark the fourth straight season that BU had two members named to the conference's All-Academic team.
A native of Dunedin, Fla., Connolly is second on the team and 10th overall in the PL in hitting at .341 while also ranking second in the conference in stolen bases with 27 total. She majors in business administration and management and currently owns a GPA of 3.40.
Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll her first two years, Martinez has split time this season at catcher and first base. The Weston, Fla., native leads BU with four homers and is third with 23 RBIs while batting .263. Majoring in human physiology, she currently owns a GPA of 3.42.
