"Lauren will be a phenomenal addition to this coaching staff," said Waters. "She has a brilliant energy that will motivate and inspire are student athletes to push to the next level. She has great vision for the game and will help tremendously in all areas. Our program will be better with her a part of it."
A two-time team captain for the Black Bears, Dulkis is quite faimilar with the Terriers, as she hit a single and scored a run in the 2004 AE championship win over BU (2-1). An infielder, she also had a two-RBI triple in an earlier victory over Stony Brook to claim the tournament's top honor.
Her best statistical season came in 2005 when she batted .313 and tallied seven doubles with 17 RBIs. For her efforts her senior year, she received AE All-Conference First Team accolades.
Dulkis received the Academic Athletic Award each season during her time at Maine and was also named to the Dean's List before graduating with a bachelor's in business administration. She takes the position previously held by Becca Carden, who was promoted this past summer to assistant coach after helping guide BU to the program's second Patriot League title in three years.
