Harvard honored Boston University alumnus Travis Roy with a pregame ceremony and raised more than $1,000 for his foundation, which helps provides grants to individuals with spinal-cord injuries to buy necessary adaptive equipment such as motorized wheelchairs, stair lifts and adapted vehicles. The Travis Roy Foundation also provides funding for research with the ultimate goal of finding a cure.
How it Happened
- Both teams struck early as the Crimson opened the scoring in the sixth minute before the Terriers responded just over two minutes later.
- The game-winner came at the 44:55 mark when Harvard's Hannah Wellington corralled a loose ball in the middle of the circle and created some space before sending a reverse-stick shot to the back of the net.
- The first goal came 5:19 into the contest as Casey Allen scored in tight with an assist from Mimi Tarrant.
- BU quickly regrouped and put together an equalizer at 7:34.
- Junior Kara Enoch received a pass just outside the circle and sent to the ball towards Hall, who redirected it past the Harvard goalkeeper for her fifth goal of the season.
- Both teams threatened later in the opening half before setting for a 1-1 score at the break.
Game Notes
- Each team recorded six shots on goal.
- The Crimson held a 12-7 advantage in total shots and a slim 2-1 edge in corners.
- Freshman Millie Baker and junior Kathleen Keegan each made two saves for the Terriers.
- Libby Manela recorded five saves in goal for the Crimson.
