ABOUT THE GAME-WINNER
- Conry came from behind goal-line extended to collect a pass from junior Caroline English.
- The freshman then stepped in front of the crease and quickly bounced the ball through the keeper's legs and into the back of the net.
A CAREER DAY FOR CONRY
- Conry's winner was part of a career-high six-point day that included a career-best five assists.
- She had previously recorded four points (1g, 3a) in the Terriers' last game on March 8 at USC.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Stags opened the scoring 3:01 into the proceedings, but BU scored the next two goals, with Jayne beginning the brief run with her 10th goal of the season off a pass from classmate Taylor Hardison before Hardison found the back of the net herself.
- Fairfield evened the score, 2-2, before Conry found sophomore Kelly Mathews in transition to help the Terriers regain a one-goal lead.
- The teams traded goals to end the half, with freshman Lexi Lewis and junior Caroline English providing the BU markers to help create a 5-5 score at the break.
- Fairfield took a 6-5 lead early in the second stanza before the Terriers scored twice in 19 seconds to claim a 7-6 advantage.
- Conry assisted on both goals, first finding junior Mickenzie Larivee and then feeding Mathews for the second time on the afternoon.
- The Stags answered right back with a free-position goal to tie the contest, 7-7, and later on scored on another such chance to take an 8-7 lead with 12:30 to play.
- Larivee answered back just 54 seconds later when she caught a pass from Conry and quickly fired home her ninth goal of the season, but Fairfield responded again to take a 9-8 lead with less than 10 minutes remaining.
- Conry collected her fourth assist of the game when she set up Jayne's second goal of the contest that tied the game, 9-9.
- With the game still tied, Fairfield had the ball out of a timeout with less than 2:00 to play. However, senior Elisabeth Jayne caused a turnover and collected the ensuing ground ball to give the Terriers possession with 1:35 remaining in regulation.
- English had a free-position chance with 13 seconds to play, but Fairfield's Caleigh O'Connor came up with a crucial stop to send the game to overtime.
