Women's Tennis Named ITA All-Academic Team; Six Terriers Earn ITA Scholar-Athlete Honors

BOSTON – For the second consecutive year, Boston University women's tennis has been recognized as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team with six student-athletes also receiving ITA Scholar-Athlete status. The six honorees mark the most for BU since six were also recognized back in 2009.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must have at least a 3.50 for the academic year.
Led by head coach Lesley Sheehan, the Terriers claimed their fourth-consecutive Patriot League title and automatic NCAA berth while posting a BU athletic department-high 3.61 GPA. All nine members finished with at least a 3.25 GPA during the spring to earn a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
For the ITA, recent graduate Madison Craft was honored for the fourth consecutive year with a 3.95 GPA. The reigning Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year and rising junior Remi Ramos was honored a second time with a 3.83 GPA.
Rising sophomore Clara Falxa (4.00), senior Iryna Kostirko (3.63), junior Sophia Kryloff (3.79) and junior Kaely Malik (3.59) were all recognized for the first time.
