BOSTON – Coming off a dominating performance against Providence, the Boston University women's tennis team will conclude a two-match homestand against Rhode Island at the Track & Tennis Center with doubles action slated to begin at 3 p.m.
The Terriers are currently 1-1 following last weekend's split in which they first fell to Miami (Ohio), 5-2, at Harvard and then claimed a 6-1 home win against the Friars.BU was a perfect 6-0 in doubles action, and senior Sabrina Faybyshev was the lone Terrier to win both of her singles matches. Freshman Shelly Yaloz remains the team leader in wins at nine total with sophomores Lily Burchell and Emily Kim close behind at seven apiece.
URI is 1-2 this season with a 7-0 sweep against Merrimack and back-to-back 7-0 losses to Harvard and Columbia. The Rams are visiting the TTC for the sixth straight year, having lost the last five contests by a combined score of 31-4. In 2017, BU held on for a 4-3 win victory but then swept URI this past year, 7-0.
Following the matchup, BU will head to Dartmouth on Saturday (Feb. 2) for a 1 p.m. start.
