
No. 10 Terriers to Host Merrimack Friday in Home Opener

The No. 10 Boston University women's ice hockey team will host Merrimack on Friday night in the Terriers' home opener at Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Admission is free for all fans on Friday night. Due to ongoing Case Center improvements, spectators are asked to enter Walter Brown Arena through a side entrance on Babcock Street.
Due to a sold out concert at Agganis Arena on Friday night, please be advised that there will be heavy traffic along Commonwealth Avenue. Fans are encouraged to approach Walter Brown Arena from the west and park at Langsam Garage.
Prior to puck drop, the Terriers will raise a banner to commemorate their 2019 Beanpot championship. Mary Grace Kelley and Reagan Rust will be on hand for the ceremony, as will members of the 1981 squad that claimed the school's first Beanpot title. In addition, there will be a rally towel giveaway and a cell phone pocket giveaway.
Hockey East has partnered with CBS Sports Digital to begin the 2019-20 season, making all home men's and women's games available on CBS Sports Digital properties. The partnership kicks off with an early-season schedule that includes games provided for free on CBS SportsLive.

RARE APPEARANCE AT WALLY B
- This will be the Terriers' one home game during the month of October.
- BU will not play at Walter Brown again until Nov. 1 against Northeastern.
- The Terriers will begin a stretch of five straight road games on Saturday when they travel to New Hampshire.
START IT WITH A POSITIVE JAM
- BU improved to 6-2-1 in its last nine season openers with a 2-1 win over Union on Oct. 6.
- Despite that strong opening day record, the Terriers have actually lost their last two home openers, one of which was to Merrimack at the start of the 2017-18 campaign.

- BU is 8-2-2 all-time against the Warriors, including a 1-0-2 mark last season.
- Since losing two straight games to the Warriors, the Terriers are 3-0-2 in their last five meetings with Merrimack.

LAST TIME AGAINST THE WARRIORS
- Sammy Davis scored with 1:03 remaining in regulation to salvage a 3-3 draw at Merrimack on Jan. 26.
- Kristina Schuler and Abby Cook also lit the lamp for the Terriers.
- Jesse Compher and Nara Elia each had two assists, including the helpers on Davis' goal.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
- Merrimack improved to 2-2-0 on the young season with a home sweep of RPI last weekend.
- The Warriors earned a 3-0 victory on Oct. 4 and followed that with a 2-1 triumph the next day.
- Merrimack opened its season with a pair of home losses to Boston College.
- Friday will be Merrimack's first road challenge of the season.
- Senior Mikyla Grant-Mentis leads the Warriors with three points and is tied with sophomore Gabby Jones for the team lead in goals with two.
- Ten Warriors have notched at least one point, including six multi-point scorers.
- Sophomores Kiki Roust and Keisha DiCaire each have a team-high two assists this year.
- Senior goaltender Léa-Kristine Demers has started three of the four games, posting a .949 save percentage, a 1.37 goals-against average and one shutout.

- Sammy Davis has tallied a team-high four goals and is second with seven points (4g, 3a).
- Kristina Schuler has tallied six points (3g, 3a) while Jesse Compher and Nara Elia have notched one goal and four assists apiece.
- Deziray De Sousa has recorded one goal and three assists while Mackenna Parker (2g, 1a) and Natasza Tarnowski (1g, 2a) both have three points.
- Breanna Scarpaci and Abbey Stanley have one goal and one assist apiece against Merrimack.

RECAPPING THE UNION WIN
- Redshirt senior Sammy Davis tallied two goals and junior Corinne Schroeder made 22 saves to lead the Terriers to a 2-1 win at Union on Sunday.
- Freshman Haylee Blinkhorn and redshirt senior Abbey Stanley assisted on Davis' first marker while senior Abby Cook and sophomore Kaleigh Donnelly had the helpers on Davis' game-winner, which came on a power play.
