How it Happened
- Belval saw a gap in the UNH defense and took it to the cage to kick-start the BU attack, knotting the score at 1-1 just under six minutes into action.
- However, the Wildcats answered with three straight solo goals over a four-minute span to surge ahead.
- Kenneally broke up a 12-minute scoring drought by drilling the upper 90 on a free position shot, putting the Terriers within two.
- Ava Barry and Kelly Mathews used back-to-back extra-man opportunities to tie the game before Emily Vervlied slotted the go-ahead goal with 8:24 left in the half.
- Kenneally five-holed the keeper less than a minute later, but UNH broke up BU's 5-0 run following a 15-minute scoring lapse, though the Terriers held a 6-5 edge at the break.
- UNH opened the second half with a quick strike to knot it up until Bridget McCarthy swung the scoreboard back in favor of BU, 7-6, with 20:17 left in the game.
- Just under two minutes later, former Terrier Mickenzie Larivee tied it up at 7-all, marking the fourth tie of the game.
- The stalemate wouldn't last long as McCarthy, MacMaster and Irvine combined for a 3-0 spurt to give BU its largest lead of the game, 10-7, with 13:30 remaining.
- UNH made things interesting as it cut the deficit to one with just under six minutes left, but Kenneally one-timed a feed from Lexi Lewis to make it 12-10 with 2:34 left on the clock.
- Mackenzie Howe matched a career high with seven draw controls for the third time this season.
- Belval and Howe accounted for 16 of BU's 19 draw controls, while Tonianne Magnelli accounted for the remaining three.
- BU won its fourth straight game against the Wildcats, its longest streak since winning 11 straight games between 2006-10.
- The Terrierd overcame a three-goal deficit to mark its largest comeback win of the season.
- UNH's three-goal lead matched its largest lead in the series since its last win against the Terriers in 2015, a 9-8 overtime decision in Durham.
- Kennady Smith finished with six saves in net.
- The Terriers will return to Patriot League action as it visits Bucknell on Saturday, April 13.
- Opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the game can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.
