
Pereira Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Following delivering the golden goal in double overtime against Northeastern, freshman Geo Pereira of the Boston University women's soccer team has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday.
With BU in double overtime for the third time on the season Thursday, Pereira spun around a defender before scorching a shot from 30 yards out in the 102nd minute against the Huskies, ripping the back of the net to seal BU's first win of the season. The game-winning goal was the first of Woodland Hills, California product's career.
Pereira and the Terriers will return to Nickerson Field on Saturday. Sept. 21 against American for their Patriot League opener.
