HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU played its best hockey in the early stages of the contest as it controlled the possession game and recorded four of the game's first five shots on goal.
- The Terriers had a great chance to open the scoring with back-to-back corners late in the first period but could not find the back of the cage.
- UConn opened the scoring at the 17:52 mark as Sophie Hamilton sent in a rebound with an elevated shot over BU netminder Caroline Kelly.
- Under three minutes later, Svea Boker doubled the home team's lead by finding the right netting at 20:30.
- Up 2-0 at the half, the Huskies were able to push their lead to 3-0 early in the second half when Boker received a pass outside the circle and dribbled in before notching her second goal of the contest.
- Hamilton also registered a pair of goals on the day as she got the Huskies' fourth and final tally of the contest at the 35:39 mark off an assist by Jessica Dembrowski.
- UConn held slim advantage in shots on goal (10-9) and corners (3-2).
- Cheyenne Sprecher turned in a nine-save shutout performance for the Huskies.
- Kelly recorded three saves for the Terriers in three quarters of action before senior Livy Golini played the final quarter and stopped all three shots she faced.
- Junior Liz Ryan had a team-high four shots for the Terriers.
- The Terriers will return to action next weekend with a pair of home games, beginning with a Patriot League contest against Lafayette on Saturday (Oct. 5).
- Game time at New Balance Field is set for noon.
- Five of BU's next six contests are at home.
