How It Happened
- Conry was a force behind the net to start, finding Irvine twice as well as Ava Barry and Hannah Kenneally to make it 4-0 in the early going.
- Claire Gola found a cutting Emily Vervlied before Kenneally ran past the defense on a restart, extending the advantage to 6-0.
- Conry continued to put on a show, burying a feed from Gola and followed with a behind-the-back dart to push the score to 8-0 with 21:46 remaining in the half.
- Following a score by the Hawks, Jennifer Barry sidestepped a defender to net her first career goal, and Lexi Lewis added a solo strike less than a minute later.
- Lauren Kaye posted a natural hat trick over the final nine minutes of the first half, sending the Terriers into the break with a commanding 13-1 advantage.
- Mackenzie Howe started the second half scoring for BU by sending in her own rebound, maintaining a 12-point margin at 14-2.
- Lewis used her speed to blow past the defense, while Alexandra Hark finished back-to-back chances in front of the crease, and Bridget McCarthy added her first of the year to push the lead to 18-3 midway through the half.
- Caroline Pinho beat the keeper for her first score of the season, while Maddie MacMaster closed out the game with back-to-back goals.Â
- BU limited Hartford to convert on just one of its first six clear attempts and 8-of-17 chances for the game.
- Lewis led the Terriers in draw controls (8), ground balls (4) and caused turnovers (2).
- All three goalies saw time in between the pipes.
- The Terriers will head to Dartmouth for their first road test of the season on Saturday, Feb. 22 for a 3 p.m. contest.
