October 16, 2021 | Women's Tennis
PRINCETON, N.J. – As the lone Patriot League representative, Boston University women's tennis sophomore Kaitlin Tan saw her ITA Super Regional run come to an end on Saturday in the Round of 16 at Princeton's Lenz Tennis Center.
Named both the PL Tournament MVP and Rookie of the Year in the spring, Tan started the multi-day event by cruising to a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Boston College team captain Natasha Irani in the Round of 32.
With a quarterfinal berth on the line, the Tacoma, Washington, native matched up with Princeton's top-seeded Victoria Hu, who was the nation's No. 9 nationally-ranked newcomer entering the season. Tan battled Hu to a first-set tiebreaker before eventually falling, 7-6(2), 6-1.
Tan will next conclude the fall schedule at the Harvard Invitational on Nov. 5-7 along with the rest of her teammates, who are currently competing this weekend at the Brown Invitational.
