Terriers Trek to No. 9/8 UMass for Tuesday Tilt on NESN

The Boston University men's ice hockey team will continue its 100th season on Tuesday night when the Terriers travel to Amherst to face No. 9/8 UMass on NESN. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU took four of six points from Vermont this past weekend, highlighted by a 4-0 victory on Saturday.
  • Sophomore goaltender Drew Commesso made 35 saves, including 15 in the third period, to earn his first collegiate shutout.
  • Over the last nine games, Commesso is 6-1-1 with a .954 save percentage and a 1.34 goals-against average.
  • Junior Matt Brown enters Tuesday on a five-game point streak, having tallied three goals and three assists for six points during that stretch.
  • Brown has notched a point in seven of his last eight games.
  • Junior Robert Mastrosimone lit the lamp in both games against Vermont and has secured a point in five of his last six games.
  • BU has now killed 27 straight penalties dating back to Nov. 27 against Cornell.

SERIES HISTORY

  • The Terriers are 66-14-8 all-time against UMass in a series that began on Jan. 16, 1920.

  • The Terriers have won four of the last six matchups, including a sweep of last season's series.

SCOUTING THE MINUTEMEN

  • UMass enters Tuesday having swept then-No. 12/13 Northeastern, earning a 3-2 win in Amherst on Friday before cruising to a 6-0 victory in Boston the next night.
  • Both of the Minutemen's losses within the league this year have been in overtime.
  • They have not lost a Hockey East contest since a 2-1 overtime defeat at New Hampshire on Nov. 20.
  • Bobby Trivigno leads UMass in goals (10) and points (12).
  • Trivigno and Scott Morrow are tied for the team lead in assists with 12 apiece.
  • Nine different Minutemen have recorded at least 10 points this season.
  • Goaltender Matt Murray has started all 20 games for UMass, posting a 2.17 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage to go along with three shutouts.
